Nolan thought it was time for a change. The 1 year offer to Rudy was a joke offer made just to tell haters, "we tried to keep him".

And of course the Cubs have more money than the Rangers. They're the Cubs. We're the Rangers. The bankruptcy thing just moved their sale along quicker. We've been borrowing millions from MLB all season. They started borrowing ice cream helmets from other teams because they couldn't pay for more Rangers ones.
