sure, we got rid of T.O. but we're not a better team for it

I sure hope Jason Witten had nothing to do with this... he's already on my s. list for being the "unnamed source" a.k.a. "The Rat" a.k.a. "Tony's jealous lover"

but seriously, how are we a better team? do we believe this will make Tony a leader? it won't. do we think this will make our defense step up when it needs to? it can't. will this improve our incompetent coaching staff? nope.

so how are we better?

TO is getting old. There were signs of it last season and I'm predicting a significant drop-off next season.

If he stayed with the Cowboys during this decline, it would only get worse. Basically his BS would be inversely proportional to his production, and the team would continue it's downward circus spiral...

he was the fastest guy on our team!!!!!!

Then let's sign Usain Bolt. TO couldn't get open because his skills and quickness are leaving him.

He's 35. He's a pain in the ass. We've had some nice regular seasons and put up some big numbers but haven't really done crap. Let's try something new...

WITTEN'S A PAIN IN THE ASS! cry baby...

T.O. hasn't lost any quickness, DB's just finally figured out how to defend him (which happens to every receiver, from Randy Moss to Steve Smith, if you play fantasy then you realize WR's have one season and then they plateau)

allz I know is we're never going to see those beautiful 75 yard TD's again...

YOU OWN HIS JERSEY!??!?

I do own his jersey. I was a big fan of TO but I'm fine seeing him go because I think it will help the team and I think he's on fumes at this point. I don't understand your point about Moss and Smith because they've had multiple big years. As did TO. When he wasn't old.

Ross' first point is great...

True, The cowboys aren't a better team on paper, but football isn't won on paper.

The coaching staff is going to stay, if they can't handle knuckleheads then we need to get rid of the knuckleheads (T.O, Tank, PacMan).

It's Tony's team & huddle now, I expect some leadership from him. I expect a lot from Garrett too.

T.O is not a scapegoat, he split the locker room. Why would Jerry release him and eat $9M if the reports last season were not true?

This explains it:

And please, Witten is a team player.

Moss & Smith, two class acts, whose numbers have dropped big time (look up the numbers)

and if you'll recall T.O. had a crazy productive season in 2007 (breaking team records) and then produced a good season with the likes of Brad Johnson and Brooks Ballsucker throwing to him... and why is it we're all ignoring, again, the fact that T.O. complained about Garrett before Romo did. before the Ravens told us how bad Garrett was but we're still acting like he was wrong?!??

Creth said...

HA, Jerry gets credit for doing this? Jerry goes from being the biggest fool in football, people calling for his head (at his 20 yr. anny) and now he's a genius? just like he was a genius when he ran off Jimmy....

Witten's a rat and everybody knows it, can't argue with the facts. multiple players admitted he was the "unnamed source" and we all know after the fact that the information that source produced wasn't true. remember how the source said the WR's called Garrett to a meeting when the actual truth was that Garrett called the WR's individually?

ridic. white man neva does n'thing wrong

and that article's stats are sooooo misleading. check out the good work over at the DMN that produced an accurate chart of attempts/recs.

in reality the numbers aren't so lopsided

You're gonna say Randy Moss, who lost Tom Brady 8 minutes into the season, dropped off and then complain about TO missing his starter for a month?

Creth said...

I'm gonna say that I'd take T.O. over Randy any day (except I do wish we could stop acting like there's a debate over whether or not we made the right choice in taking Greg Ellis in the draft. obviously we should have taken Moss) I don't care what Randy does in NE, what he showed me in Minny/OAK was enough to know that he's a lazy thug. T.O.'s never taken a play off, that's why people around him are able to put up career numbers

You're right Creth. TO was a regular Jerry Rice at his stops in SF, Philly and now, Dallas.

And when he was breaking team records in 2007, Moss was busy breaking NFL ones.

This stuff is draining me. Can we just get Larry Fitzgerald? He's pefect in every way...unless you're his girlfriend but that clearly didn't affect his play in the playoffs so I'm ok with that.
