In 2000's Bedazzled, Elizabeth Hurley was about as hot as humanly (or unhumanly) possible. Had to get that out of the way first. Also, one of Brendan Fraser's alternate personalities was a pro basketball player. It appears they were trying to predict how wild-ass pro ballers would be in the future:
